Jack de Belin’s ‘crazy and surreal’ family connection to Anzac Day
St George Illawarra Dragons lock Jack de Belin has opened up on his family connection to Anzac Day, as his side prepares to face the Sydney Roosters on the special day.
The lock’s grandfather Fred played test football back in the 1940’s for Australia, New South Wales and Balmain, but also fought in the war.
“It’s pretty crazy and surreal to think that when he was young, he went to the other side of the world and fought in the war for our freedom,” de Belin said.
