EXCLUSIVE: Video Game Therapy funded by NDIS
Gaming therapy has children with learning difficulties using video games to develop new skills, and it can be claimed through the NDIS.
Dwayne Fernandes from Mindsatplay.com.au offers gaming therapy, which involves playing Dungeons & Dragons and Minecraft online to help kids “build their communication skills”.
“We utilise the space that they feel really safe in,” Dwayne told Ben.
Minister for NDIS, Bill Shorten, has told Ben Fordham that he will be looking into gaming therapy.
