Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann will commence a new search today at a reservoir in Portugal, which has been searched previously.

The reservoir is approximately 50km from where the three-year-old disappeared 16 years ago. The area was searched twice in 2008.

It’s an area where suspect Christian Brueckner, a 45-year-old German citizen who was in the Algarve in 2007, is said to refer to as his place of paradise.

Brueckner has denied any involvement.
