TAFE NSW is seeing a large rise in enrolments, with older women making up the bulk.
Chief Delivery Officer Janet Schorer says some women have decided on a post-COVID career change, while others are catching up on studies they put on hold while raising the kids.
The fee-free program is a partnership between Federal, State and Territory Governments, focusing on industries with a skills shortage.
