Albanese calls out No campaign’s “great lie” on Voice
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has given an address where he’s called out what he describes as the “great lie” of the No campaign.
Speaking at the Lowitja O’Donoghue Oration, Mr Albanese told attendees it was “galling” that some proponents of the No case were claiming the Voice to Parliament would “put race in the constitution.”
Mr Albanese said that race has been in the Australian constitution since Federation, including Section 51(xxvi). He said during the speech that the Voice amendment does not include any mention of “race”.
Federal Politics Editor Michael Pachi joined John Stanley to unpack the speech and discuss what’s next for the Voice.
