EXCLUSIVE | Paul Gallen denies interest in Blues coaching role
Former NSW Captain Paul Gallen has ruled out any interest in joining the Blues coaching ranks, if Brad Fittler doesn’t continue next year.
Following the Blues 32-6 loss to the Maroons in State of Origin Game 2, there has been speculation over the future of incumbent coach Brad Fittler, who’ll meet with NSWRL CEO Dave Trodden after this year’s series.
A number of candidates have been discussed if Fittler doesn’t continue, but Gallen, a member of The Continuous Call Team, says he won’t be putting his hand up for the job.
“It’s not for me at this point in time,” Gallen said.
“I never say never, it’s not something I don’t ever want to do, but at this stage it’s not for me.
“I think it’s a little bit disrespectful to Brad Fittler, he’s still the current coach, he hasn’t been let go, and he’s still got one game to coach.”
