Queensland State of Origin Coach Billy Slater says he’s proud of the resilience and fight the Maroons showed in game two to seal the series win on Wednesday.

The Maroons defence stood up to the Blues attack in the first half before the Maroons ran away with it to claim a 32-6 win at Suncorp Stadium.

It’s Slater second Origin series win in his second year as coach and told The Continuous Call Team the Maroons defence was the key.

“We certainly could of played better,” Slater said.

“I thought we were a little bit conservative in that opening 20 minutes, but they really hung in there.

“They played resilient and really defended their try line.”

Game three will be at Accor Stadium on Wednesday July 12.
