Major disruptions to several key Sydney train services
UPDATE: Trains are now up and running again as of 4:30pm. However, passengers should expect delays to continue.
Major disruptions are affecting three major transportation lines, with trains currently at a standstill.
Sydney Trains have released a statement, urging passengers to “delay their trips”.
“Trains are not running between Parramatta and St Marys, and between Parramatta and Richmond on the T1 Western Line, the T5 Cumberland Line and the Blue Mountains Line due to an operational issue,” the statement read.
“Replacement buses have been requested but are not currently running.
“Passengers are advised to delay their trips or consider alternative transport and allow plenty of extra travel time.
“Passengers are also advised to listen to announcements and check information displays for service updates.”
