EXCLUSIVE | Anthony Griffin opens up on Dragons axing and reveals future coaching desire
Former St George Illawarra coach Anthony Griffin has opened up in his first interview on his axing from the Dragons earlier this year.
Griffin was sacked in May after the club were sitting second last on the ladder with just two wins from 10 games.
Griffin, who coached the Dragons to 22 wins out of 57 games since 2021, told The Continuous Call Team it was disappointing how it panned out, but he’s moved on.
“It’s always disappointing when it gets to that point,” Griffin said.
“But when you sign up to be an NRL head coach, that’s part of the industry, it’s happened and I’ll move on.”
The 56-year-old also says he still has a desire to coach in the NRL again.
“I think I’ve still got something to offer, and as long as I feel that way, that’s the main thing,” Griffin said.
Griffin will be part of The Continuous Call Team’s commentary team for Saturday’s clash between the Rabbitohs and Bulldogs.
