‘I think it’s really bad’: Tony Abbott says Voice will ‘entrench division’
Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has said the Voice to Parliament is not in the best interests of Australia.
He told Michael McLaren that his issue is not with recognition, but with the creation of a separate body that ‘entrenches division’ in the Australian constitution.
Mr Abbott told Michael McLaren that ceremonies like ‘Welcome to Country’ are getting “completely out of hand”, saying that he wants the vote on the Voice, expected in October, to fail.
