Former Matildas assistant coach Ante Juric is hopeful of a massive momentum shift for women’s football in Australia, with the country hosting the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

The Sydney FC head coach noted how many of the core Australian team were made in the local league, with his own star Cortnee Vine starting against Ireland. With the focus solely on football, he reckons the next year will be crucial.

“Going to be huge and hopefully the momentum shifts for next year”, Juric told Adam Hawse.

Juric also promoted Sydney FC’s goal of 1000 women’s memberships for the 2023/24 season, which are available here.
