Pauline Hanson incensed over the possibility of an inheritance tax

Clinton Maynard

Luke is joined by Pauline Hanson, Senator for Queensland / Leader of Pauline Hanson’s One Nation, to discuss incoming Productivity Commission boss Danielle Wood urging the government to consider the option of inheritance taxes for the rich… despite admitting the policy is “political dynamite”.

Ms Wood, who will leave her current role at the Grattan Institute to take up the new job, described her personal views as long-standing and based on concerns that the burden of taxation will increasingly fall on younger workers.

To be fair, she said her personal views did not form part of any work she planned to do at the Productivity Commission for the government, unless it made a referral on tax.

Also, now that the writs have been issued for the upcoming referendum, the Senator talks Luke through her own bill to sort out the land titles mess.  40,000 claims yet to be dealt with in NSW alone gives you an idea of the size of the issue.
