Cricket star Nathan Lyon has launched a new platform, Goatd, which enables fans and athletes to interact more closely.

He reflected on his own experience in light of recent claims about Latrell Mitchell snubbing young fans, stating: “I had an experience when I was about seven… [where] my brother [and I] went and tried to get a photo and autograph, and drove for hours to watch [this cricketer] play a game in the cricket shield for New South Wales.”

“And he said, I’ll do it later, so we waited the whole day and then he just walked by. So that breaks your heart.”

He explained that this event inspired him to create Goatd, where fans can connect with prominent athletes, such as Matildas star Kyah Simon.
