Broncos legend labels Billy Walters the most improved player in the competition
Rugby League legend Glenn Lazarus believes Broncos hooker Billy Walters is the most improved player in the competition, after a strong season.
A fairytale is brewing at Red Hill as Billy and, father and coach Kevin Walters, aim to become Brisbane’s first father-son premiership duo in the club’s history.
Lazarus who won five premierships including two with Brisbane, told The Continuous Call Team, Billy has been an important part of the Broncos set up at hooker.
“I think the most improved player in the competition is Billy Walters,” Lazarus said.
“I just feel that Billy has gone from playing that number 14 role playing a few minutes here and there.
“But some of the things that he does off the ball, I think are outstanding and helps the team immensely.”
