Canberra Raiders halfback Jamal Fogarty has been announced as one of the 2023 Ken Stephen Medal finalists.

Fogarty has been selected along with Latrell Mitchell, Jamal Fogarty, James Tedesco, Patrick Carrigan and Toby Rudolf, with the winner to be announced at next week’s Dally M awards.

He reflected on his own personal experience and how that has influenced him to become the person he is today.

“I still remember when I was in Year 8 that two Brisbane Broncos came to my high school,” Fogarty said.

“They came to our school, kicked the footy and had a good chat with me.

“The impact that they had on me as a young fella is something I still remember now.

“That’s the impact that I want to try and give back to people.”
