‘Rorted all over’: Foreign ownership in Australia skyrockets as China increases spending by $1bn
Foreign ownership in Australia of property has been a serious problem, with Chinese nationals upping their spending by $1bn in the last financial year.
Chris O’Keefe looked into the exact ownership rules for foreign nationals buying property in Australia, believing there had been rules prohibiting foreign nationals from buying existing homes in the country.
“Is anybody enforcing any of this? Or is it just a free-for-all? You can’t tell me this isn’t being rorted all over the place,” he asked on Drive.
