The CEO of the International Education Association of Australia, Phil Honeywood, has rejected claims that Australian universities are letting in international students with poor English skills. 

He explained that Australia has a higher standard of English tests compared to the U.S., U.K. and Canada.

Honeywood further argued that toughening language admission tests would lead to a loss in international students, which contributes $40 billion a year to the Australian economy.
