Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has fired back at Labor and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese after he was accused of “protecting paedophiles” as debate rages on over the High Court’s orders to release more than 100 convicted detainees. 

“The personal attacks, yes, they hurt,” he told Ray Hadley. “But they don’t mean anything to me because it’s the complete opposite of who I am or what I believe.

“Most of your listeners know me well enough, and my history well enough to know that this is a desperate Prime Minister running out of options and he’s in real trouble.”
