Community groups petition to keep the Powerhouse Museum open

Clinton Maynard

Mike Jeffreys is joined Robert Borsak, NSW Upper House Member & Leader of the Shooters, Fishers & Farmers party, following concerns from a listener about the future of the Powerhouse Museum at Ultimo.

Community action groups have united to launch a petition aimed at preventing the temporary closure of the Museum for extensive renovations, scheduled to commence in February for a three-year duration.

The Powerhouse Museum has been embroiled in nearly nine years of controversy surrounding proposals for relocation, demolition, and development.

Advocates express concern that the Powerhouse, if closed, might never reopen.
