Red flags for over 50s dating

It’s easy to misread the cautionary signs of online dating in your 50s. In the uncharted territory of middle-aged Tinder, the irate divorcee who drinks too much but boasts an excellent sense of humour, might attract someone with endless compassion, but really, they need a therapist.

Then there’s the fitness enthusiast who scoffs at your bag of chips but promises to ‘motivate you toward a healthier lifestyle’.

And let’s not forget the love-bombing optimist – they undoubtedly possess a good
heart but too much of something can be a bad sign.

Mike speaks with Dr Rachel Matthews, Author, University lecturer, Student Welfare Co-Ordinator who, during the exploration for her new novel, ‘Never Look Desperate’, and her personal foray back into the dating ‘scene’, learnt how to spot the mid-life red flags and how to get the fresh start she was after.
