EXCLUSIVE: David Morrow breaks silence on health battle
Legendary sports broadcaster David ‘Thirsty’ Morrow has broken his silence on his health battle, opening up about the moment he realised something was wrong before being diagnosed with brain cancer.
This revelation follows the recent announcement by the 2GB icon that he would retire from his commentary role on the Continuous Call Team (CCT) effective immediately.
Currently undergoing treatment, Morrow shared details of his life-threatening battle with his close friend and fellow 2GB host and commentator, Mark Levy.
Reflecting on the pivotal moment, Morrow disclosed, “The big warning sign came the week before Christmas.”
“I fell in the pool. But the fact is that the reaction was, that I couldn’t swim. I didn’t have the wherewithal to stand up and get to the side of the pool.”
He also spoke about how “grateful” he is for everything that’s happened in his life.
“My daughter, when she came home from holidays, wrote on a little whiteboard to be ‘grateful’,” he said.
“I’m so grateful for everything that’s happened in the 53 years since I left school.”
