‘It’s a slap in the face to taxpayers’: Taxpayer advocate reacts to ‘insane’ pay rise for Governor General
On Monday, the Albanese government introduced a bill into parliament that will see incoming Governor General Samantha Mostyn be paid $700,000, over $214,000 more than her predecessor David Hurley received.
Brian Marlow from the Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance joined 2GB Drive to talk about the increase in salary for the incoming Governor-General Samantha Mostyn.
Marlow believes “It’s a slap in the face to taxpayers.”
“It’s a good example of how wasteful governments can be with other people’s money.” he said.
