Australia’s terror threat has been raised for the first time in 10 years.

Nine News national affairs editor, Andrew Probyn, says conflict in other parts of the world, and a lack of trust of authority has contributed to the terror threat.

Social media has also been blamed for a rise in extremism and radicalisation.

“The way that social media can not only radicalise folk but the way that social media is being misused to erode that trust,” he told Michael McLaren.
