Michael McLaren has questioned how the child-care sector is struggling financially, and why the federal government needs to provide additional funds after it was revealed the Albanese government had agreed to increase the salaries of child-care workers by 15 per cent.

“They deserve a pay rise for what they do, but we are right to debate where that extra coin comes from,” he said.
