‘Random stabbing’ – Do you know this man?
Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Haymarket on Sunday.
NSW Police have issued the following statement: “Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was stabbed at Haymarket yesterday.
“Emergency services were called to Darling Road about 4.20pm (Sunday 29 September 2024), following reports of an assault.
“Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command have been told a 22-year-old man was walking near the light rail stop at Chinatown when he was stabbed in the back by another man who ran away towards Darling Drive.
“As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist investigators.
“The man is described as being aged about 40 or 50, of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern or Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, of medium build, balding with dark hair and a short beard.
“He was wearing a dark top, blue or black pants with white writing on the front and white joggers.
“As investigations continue, anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Day Street Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
