‘It’ll be extreme’ – What you should really expect from the weather this Summer?

Luke Grant

Following a week of what some have labelled as “extreme heat”, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has released its long-term weather forecast for summer 2024-2025.

They’re predicting it’ll likely be warmer than average across most of the country, with higher than usual summer rainfall predicted for much of the country.

Long range weather forecaster Hayden Walker’s family has been in the business of weather forecasting since 1892, and are Australia’s oldest weather forecasting company.

Luke Grant, spoke with Hayden earlier this year to get his predictions for Autumn and Winter, which contrasted significantly to the BOM’s.

Luke Grant welcomed Hayden Walker back to Weekend Mornings, to get his forecast for summer, which he predicts will feature copious amounts of extreme weather events.
