Well, it wasn’t long ago I spoke about North Shore girls’ school Ravenswood

Students there were given a religious assignment where they were asked to defend Islam

My information is that at least one student questioned the premise of the assignment and was critical of Islam

She was was given a fail

Now, today, another extraordinary report about what passes for education at our schools

On Tuesday at 9:30am Year 10 students in class at St Justin’s Catholic primary school at Oran Park were reportedly told by a teacher, a nun, that the Prime Minister had written to the school informing it that parents weren’t looking after their children properly and that, as a consequence, the children in the class would be taken away from their parents

Some children in the class burst into tears – others were unable to eat during their lunch break a few hours later

When the children asked the teacher whether what she had said was true, she replied that it was and waved around a piece of paper – supposedly the Prime Minister’s letter

It wasn’t until 5 hours later, at 2:50pm, that the children were finally told what had happened earlier was all part of a lesson on the Stolen Generations

They were then asked to write down how they had felt

Malcolm Turnbull has just allocated $23.5 billion more to education

Is this what taxpayers are getting in return?

This is not education by any measure
