The school has been the best for over two decades.

This year, over 77,000 students sat their HSC exams with 46 students receiving the top ATAR of 99.95.

Selective schools did particularly well, with James Ruse Agricultural High School topping the state for the 22nd year in a row.

Adam Voigt, former James Ruse Principal and education expert, says the school is “in a league of its own”.

“Their distinct advantages are they’re a select entry and a specialised school.

“Their students are motivated in their learning and they get some fabulous results.”

Adam says public schools are outperforming their private counterparts because of additional investment in teachers.

“Some offer after-school tutoring. They invest heavily in their teaching cohort which sometimes doesn’t happen in our private schools because, to be honest, they’ve got it a little easy.”
