NSW police are calling for the government to increase the amount of the officers on the streets to keep the public safe.

President of the NSW Police Association, Scott Weber, tells Mark Levy an additional 2500 officers are needed to prevent terrorist incidents and organised crime.

“The NSW Police Association is asking the government to invest in 2500 extra officers over the next five years. That’s a modest increase and government can afford it.

“We want more people in blue. We want more police out there on the streets.”

Mr Weber says the world has changed and we have to be “eternally vigilant”.

“Look, the world has changed and not for the better but NSW police is changing with it.”
