With temperatures expected to exceed 40 degrees on Sunday, paramedics are reminding people to stay cool.

NSW Ambulance Superintendent Ryan Lovett tells Warren Moore children and the elderly are at greatest risk.

“You can’t underestimate the consequences of not taking care in the extreme heat.

“It’s going to be a hot weekend.”

Ryan says you should be drinking 2-3 litres of water to stay hydrated.

” If you’re feeling hot and thirsty, you’re already dehydrated. Switch the aircon on and try to keep cool.”
