Tony Abbott: Comments made about Jim Molan are ‘absolutely contemptible’
Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott says the Greens should apologise for “contemptible” comments made about Senator Jim Molan.
On Sky News this morning, Greens MP Adam Bandt labelled Senator Molan a “coward” who should be prosecuted for his Iraq War service.
Mr Abbott tells Ben Fordham Senator Molan is a wonderful Australian.
“What the Greens have done is absolutely contemptible.
“If anyone should be apologising it’s the Greens. They should be apologising and Bill Shorten should be apologising for even getting a little bit down this path which he has.
“But the sad thing about Bill Shorten at the moment is that all too often he and the Greens are on the same page.”
Mr Abbott also commented on the recent news Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce is expecting a baby with his former staff member.
“Gossip sells newspapers. But, in the end, a baby is a blessing… What really matters is: is Barnaby doing a good job.”
