The Finance Minister says he will extend the length of the Royal Commission into banking if it’s needed.

The second round of hearings are currently underway and have revealed a series of explosive revelations surrounding misconduct.

The inquiry is scheduled to last 12 months.

But Mathias Cormann tells Alan Jones it will be extended if that’s what the Royal Commissioner wants.

“We will take our advice from him.

“I mean if the Royal Commissioner says to us that there is more work to be done, that he needs more time, then obviously the government would act on that.”
