Historian ‘seeking to deny our past’, challenges removal of graffiti on Captain Cook statue
Last year, outrage was sparked when the words “change the date” and “no pride in genocide” were splashed on a Captain Cook statue in Sydney’s Hyde Park.

“We all, as a majority of free-thinking people, have to stand up and say enough is enough. We’re not putting up with this crap anymore.”
Instead, she says we need to “reflect and represent the past, good and bad, so we can learn from it.”
