We need more space for cemeteries and we need it fast.

Sydney cemeteries are set to be full in 33 years, with some specialists sections expected to be packed out in 10 years time.

CEO of Rookwood Cemetery George Simpson tells Ben Fordham they’re looking for more land.

“Some communities have about 20 years, some have 10, some have less than that.”

George says they’re being forced to think about more innovative burial methods.

“We’re going to have to figure out a solution for this and figure it out very soon.”
