Even if this notorious rapist doesn’t show remorse, he’ll be released from prison
Notorious Sydney gang rapist Mohammed Skaf is demanding to be released from prison after serving his minimum term.
Skaf alongside his brother Bilal were convicted over a series of rapes in Sydney in 2000 that shocked Australia.
Mohammed has now been behind bars for 17 years, and became eligible for parole in January 2018.
It’s understood the NSW State Parole Authority refused his release after a closed-door hearing last November.
Skaf wants to appeal the decision and has written to the parole authority stating, “where’s the fairness, where’s the justice.”
Barrister Margaret Cunneen, prosecuted Mohammed’s brother Bilal Skaf, and she joins Ben Fordham.
“He will be given another chance.
“If he doesn’t get parole within the next six years he will have to be released at the end of his sentence.
“We have to believe in rehabilitation.”
Barrister Cunneen admits that at the moment, the signs aren’t positive.
The parole authority has found Skaf has shown no signs of victim empathy.
