This 13yo was told he couldn’t walk his dog and the reason is bizarre
We hear some bizarre stories on Sydney Live, but this one has to take the cake.
A 13-year-old boy was walking his family dog yesterday afternoon when he was approached by a council compliance officer who asked how old he was.
When the young boy gave his age, he was unbelievably told he wasn’t allowed to walk his family pet.
Because he was under 16 and wouldn’t be strong enough to hold the animal back if it bolted.
The young dog walker’s mother was furious, telling Ben Fordham she couldn’t believe her ears.
“He’s a 13-year-old, he’s played A-grade rugby, he’s stronger than I am.”
The council officer than asked for the boy’s address, vowing to follow it up with his parents.
His irate mother says she would relish the opportunity to have a chat to the officer involved.
“I hope that man does turn up because that will be an interesting conversation.”
The Mayor of the council says he’s looking into the matter and a review will be conducted if required.
