The 21-year-old mental health worker making the leap into politics
What were you doing when you were in your early 20s?
Most of us wouldn’t be thinking about establishing a career in politics, but Yvette Quinn isn’t like other young adults.
21-year-old Yvette has defied all odds, becoming the latest Nationals candidate to take on the Shooters, Fishers and Famers Party in the seat of Orange.
The mental health worker tells Mark Levy she’s ready for the challenge.
“I’ve seen some of the indifferences that we have, especially out west in the Orange electorate, compared to our city counterparts.
“I just don’t think it’s fair that we don’t get the same amount of services and the same amount of attention.”
Yvette says she knows she’s up against some personalities in parliament but insists she’ll be able to hold her own.
“If there’s an issue, and if it’s something the people in my electorate care about and they want, I’m going for their voices and I’m going to represent them.”
