Legendary sports broadcaster Ray ‘Rabs’ Warren brings footy to life the moment he gets behind the mic.

For the first time in 17 years, State of Origin will be on a Sunday and it wouldn’t be a proper clash without the voice of rugby league.

Rabs will be back in the commentary box in two days time and even after all these years, he admits he still gets nervous.

“To tell you the truth it’s getting more difficult as years roll by,” Ray tells Ben Fordham.

“This will be game 89 for me and I just had my 75th birthday last week so the nervous system is not as good, I can assure you!

“It’s probably brought on by a fear that you’ve had 51 or 52 good years, you don’t want to spoil it by going out on a low note.”
