Music royalty Glenn Shorrock got his first taste of the spotlight miming to Elvis Presley with a cardboard cutout the guitar in 1958.

Now, he’s releasing an autobiography entitled Now, Where Was I? reflecting on the highs and lows of his illustrious career.

Speaking with Ben Fordham, Glenn shares how it all started.

It was 1958 at St Peter’s Lutheran Church in Adelaide’s northern suburb of Elizabeth.

It was his first performance, miming to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s ‘All Shook Up’.

“With a cardboard guitar around my neck wearing my dad’s white sports jacket which draped down to my knees, and the record player broke down and I kept on singing it by myself.

“I got a few claps, and that was it.”
