Alan speaks with farmer Anto White for an update on the dire drought situation facing farmers across New South Wales and Queensland.

Anto tells Alan the cost of cottonseed has skyrocketed from $270 a tonne to $600 a tonne.

It’s now costing him $25,000 a week to keep his breeding stock alive.

“I don’t think anyone knows how many cattle are actually being fed at the moment, how much feed is there in Australia at the moment,

“I mean, we’re getting to a situation now, in the next month, people are just going to throw their hands up.

“I don’t know what to do. There are a lot of people out there worse off than I am and, seriously, they don’t know what to do.

“We need to seriously do something. It needs to be done now.”
