Ray Hadley has been sent footage of a violent attack on an elderly man at a bus shelter in Sydney’s north on the weekend.

Just before 9pm on Saturday, two teenagers became involved in an argument with a 70-year-old man at a bus shelter outside a Castle Hill shopping centre on Old Castle Hill Road.

The argument escalated and ended in a shocking act of violence, which saw the alleged victim fall to the ground.

“It’s really, really bad.

“You can hear young girls in the background yelling ‘stop it, stop it, don’t hit him, don’t hit him anymore'”, says Ray.

The older man was assisted by passers-by after allegedly being assaulted.

Officers from the Hills Police command and NSW Ambulance paramedics also attended, however, the injured man then declined treatment.

The man later attended Hornsby hospital receiving treatment for facial cuts.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested nearby and taken to Castle Hill Police Station but was later released to instead be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

Yesterday, the elderly man attended Castle Hill police station and spoke with investigators. He was released pending further inquiries.

“The insinuation is he may have done something to one of the youngsters involved…that we don’t see on the video,” says Ray.
