‘It certainly gives you some hope’: Farmers welcoming rainfall
Rain has fallen steadily for the second day in a row in New South Wales.
And while it’s not going to break the drought, farmers in regional and rural parts of the state are finding some relief.
Sarah Bradfield and her husband Chris recently moved from the Central Coast to a cattle station at Mulla Creek near Tamworth.
She tells Ben Fordham while they didn’t have a huge amount, it looks “like someone put green lens across the land”.
“There’s enough rain that’s it’s just settled the dust on the roads so you don’t get those dust clouds and as much dust in the house.
“It certainly gives you some hope.
“It’s good for the livestock, but as you said, Ben, it’s not drought-breaking rain and it’s going to take a lot more for it to really turn the corner.
“I think the thing people don’t realise Ben, is that it’s the towns that are really struggling now. It’s the business. People don’t have the money to spend in the town.”

And with the Royals soon to touch down in Australia, Sarah tells Ben they’ve got their own bit of royalty on the farm.
Harry and Meghan.
And no, she’s not talking about the Royal Duke and Duchess of Sussex. She’s talking about the little lambs (pictured) on her farm.
“That’s our very own Meghan and Harry!”
