The world’s first liquefied hydrogen tanker has arrived in Australia and is leaving Victoria for Japan. 

Energy Minister Angus Taylor told Deborah Knight how important the day is as it’s “the birth of an industry”.

The shipment is part of a supply chain project that will test if it’s possible to create hydrogen using coal mines.

“The Japanese are a big market.”

With Australia already producing hydrogen, Mr Taylor insists, “This is an export industry”.
