A suspended P-plater has travelled through five suburbs after driving off from the scene of a crash near Ray Hadley’s home in north-west New South Wales.

On Wednesday afternoon police were called to Arcadia Road, Arcadia after reports of a serious car accident.

A white Toyota Hilux fled the scene with deployed airbags, a shredded tyre and a beat-up door.

When the 22-year-old driver was stopped he admitted to having a suspended P1 drivers licence and smoking marijuana.

Police say he drove the damaged car through the suburbs of Arcadia, Galston, Dural, Annangrove and Kenthurst before being stopped by police.

He is in hospital in a stable condition.

Ray reveals the crash occurred about half an hour from where he lives.

“It’s a remarkable story.

“It’s a miracle the car could have been driven, let alone that long distance that it was driven.”
