A380 jets vs mRNA vaccines: Immunologist’s ‘absolute corker’ analogy

Article image for A380 jets vs mRNA vaccines: Immunologist’s ‘absolute corker’ analogy

A preeminent immunologist has called on all Australians to trust biological scientists the same way we trust aviation engineers.

Westmead Institute for Medical Research Clinical Professor Graeme Stewart told Ray Hadley every percentage of the population vaccinated above 90 drastically reduces deaths and the risk of lockdowns.

Seeking to put the minds of those who remain unconvinced about the vaccine at ease, Professor Stewart pointed out more people have died of bee and wasp stings in Australia this year than vaccine complications.

“Yes, this [mRNA] technology has only been used for a COVID vaccine for a year, but the technology’s been used in cancer medicine for more than a decade.

“The scientists who developed this would never have got these mRNA vaccines through regulator agencies if there was any plausibility to long term side effects.

“When the A380 planes went up in the sky, and we all said ‘they’re much quieter and better than a 747’, nobody said ‘I’m going to wait for 30 years’ … we trusted the engineers and scientists that they wouldn’t fall out of the sky!”

Ray said he’d adopt the “absolute corker” analogy himself.
