ACCC boss Rod Sims has accused gas producers of failing local businesses and causing them to struggle.

Gas prices have gone up and domestic supply has reduced, as gas producers focus on exporting despite fears of a potential gas shortage at home.

Mr Sims tells John Stanley the gas producers have raised prices for companies and caused “major problems.”

“We’re still finding that the gas producers… are still taking complete advantage of that situation.

“If the gas producers dont watch out it might cause a problem for them.

“I probably hit them very hard today, John, just to jolt them,” he says.
