A new advertisement released by Respect Victoria is encouraging bystanders to call out disrespectful behaviour towards women.

The advertisement shows a man staring at a woman on the train, while another commuter wonders if he should intervene.

The creators say the ad aims to show that a small action by a bystander can send the message that sexual harassment is not okay.

But some are worried it’s sending the wrong message.

There are concerns the man’s actions could start an unnecessary fight.
