A local and town meeting organiser in Alice Springs has called out the misconception about the Town Hall meeting on Monday night.

The ABC made the conversation about race and violence within the room, however, Garth Thompson stated it was the furthest thing from the truth.

“I was blown away… if they were really concerned about Indigenous affairs they would have actually portrayed that meeting in a proper matter,” he said.

Alice Springs Mayor Matt Patterson added that the report “couldn’t be further from the truth”.

“We had 3,000 people in that room fed up with how Alice Springs is being kicked around like a political football.”
