Albanese government labelled weak over failures to prevent asylum seekers reaching Australia
Senator James Paterson says the Albanese government has shown they’re weak as asylum seekers and illegal fishermen continue to make their way to Australia.
He points out the Australian Border Force has failed three times to prevent vessels from reaching north-west Australia.
“It’s a good thing when we stop them at sea and turn them around, that’s the system working as it should, but it’s not working if we’re reliant on local residents and Indigenous communities to find people wandering about the desert,” he told Ray Hadley.
