News anchor Paul Murray has shrugged off criticism over his exclusive interview with Donald Trump.

Sky News’ Paul Murray was the only Australian journalist to score an interview with the President of the United States during Scott Morrison’s state visit.

But Mr Murray has been criticised, with some saying he was too “soft” on the president.

Mr Trump spoke about his relationship with Scott Morrison and Malcolm Turnbull and gave his thoughts on Australia.

Mr Murray tells Steve Price he was lucky to have had the opportunity.

“This was never going to be the interrogation of Donald Trump… this was an honour.

“I just wanted to give him the chance to say what he thought about Australia and that will mean you’ll cop criticism for it and who cares.”
